All they need is a fancy website and some shiny brochures, but these do not help when the time has come to move – by this point it is too late.
If they don’t have a pool of experienced staff and the right quantity and size of vehicles, they will still be unloading your bed at midnight – not what you need on moving day!
Also, if completion on your new home gets delayed, and things start to run late, how will such a company cope? The simple answer is they cannot.
Check that the company you are using has a number of experienced and professional staff (not just 1 or 2), plus a fleet of vehicles rather than a rusty old van and you will be on the right track.
Furthermore, ensure that the company you choose is a member of the National Guild of Removers and Storers, a body that fully audits a removals company before allowing membership. Guild members will have also completed the ‘Compulsory Scheme Approved Inspection Programme’ – look at the NGRS link on our homepage or click here for more details.
Finally, check the company’s testimonials, usually found on their website. Do remember though that anybody can write a testimonial and post it on their website – ensure to the best of your ability that the testimonials are genuine!
